AVR is a manufacturer's representative firm based in Marietta, Georgia (NW Atlanta) with AVR Distributing as its wholesale distribution division. AVR has been serving the needs of independent mobile electronics retailers and automotive technology specialists in the Southeast since 2002.
AVR Distributing offers fast delivery, a large selection of leading brands, and the highest level of customer support in the hyper-competitive 12-volt marketplace where delayed shipments and excess inventory can severely hamper a retailer’s ability to succeed. Meet Our Team
Joe Hanson
President
Joe has over 45 years of work experience in the consumer electronics industry. Built upon decades of personal history and trust, Joe has established strong relationships with many industry partners and associates.
Joe began his career as a rep salesman for Forti-Austin Associates and Elrep Sales, after which he became a Regional Sales Manager with Panasonic's Technics division. He later started his own sales rep firm, Creative Marketing, in Atlanta, and joined Teal Marketing Associates, the (then) Kenwood representative firm covering the Southeastern U.S.
In 2002, Joe formed Audio Video Representatives (AVR) and became the representative for Kenwood and several other audio video product lines. In 2003, AVR Distributing was established.
Joe's dedication to researching the latest technologies to meet consumer needs has resulted in what AVR has become - an always-growing, ever-evolving company that strives to be the best in the automotive, marine, and powersports markets.
Brian Cargile
Brian worked as a retail salesperson and store manager from 1990 to 2005 for several retailers in the Southeast including Super Shops, Audio Systems, HiFi Buys in Birmingham, and Next Level Performance. Brian joined AVR in 2005 as the manager of AVR Distributing’s then branch location in Birmingham, AL and was responsible for all the sales and warehouse operations for several years. In 2012, Brian was designated as AVR’s outside direct salesperson for Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
Brian’s love of the mobile audio/video business is driven by his longstanding interest in sound quality. He enjoys working with his independent retail specialists to help create a better listening experience for their customer – the end user.
Brian is an avid collector of Hot Wheels – specifically 1967 Camaros. He also is actively involved in his nieces’ softball leagues as coach, mentor, and biggest fan.
Greg Wallace
Greg began his journey in the mobile audio/video industry working for HiFi Buys in the metro Atlanta area in 2003. He eventually worked his way up the ladder to become the 12-volt departmental manager before leaving the company in 2007 to work for AVR.
After several successful years as an inside salesperson at AVR Distributing, Greg was promoted to Sales Manager. Greg has excelled in this position and has guided AVR Distributing through all the many changes in the 12-volt world throughout the past decade.
Additionally, Greg is committed to his direct customers in the Southeast who rely on his product knowledge and proven ability to help them grow and improve their businesses.
Greg is a very involved Dad of three young daughters. He also enjoys traveling, fishing, concerts, and barbecuing for family and friends.
Jon Edge
Jon grew up tinkering with cars – his own and others. His family has owned a car stereo store in Nashville since before he was born – so he literally grew up in this business.
His first job in the mobile audio/video business was in 2000 as an apprentice under Scott Harris, a member of the MTX Thunder Force Team that set a world record in the IDBL portion of IASCA. He worked for a few shops in Alabama and the Atlanta area as an installer before opening his own 12-volt company in 2013. For six years he traveled the eastern side of the U.S. as a custom installer for his own customers, other shops, and contracting companies. He joined AVR’s sales team in 2018.
Jon is passionate about this industry because he values the continual learning process – working with customers every day and helping them with their challenges. He enjoys maps and chart plotting which relate to writing schematics and laying out circuits in his head. As long as he can remember, he has liked electronics and clean sounding music.
